Where is the natural solution? Where are the new remedies for ADHD?
The pharmaceutical giants are constantly bringing new drugs onto the market to combat ADHD. Sadly many of these have had such a bad press from the medical profession themselves that they do not inspire confidence in the increasing number of parents that have to make choices regarding their child’s ADHD diagnosis, in the face of pressure being put on them by medical practitioners and schools.

Films like Generation RX are freely available on the internet and highlight the problems parents face today in making choices. Pay a visit to this youtube offering:

So what is the alternative?

Here are many natural approaches that can be adopted which will ease the symptoms of ADHD that range from food supplements to natural essences to manage behaviour and emotions, exercise programmes, relaxation therapies and parent support programmes. The problem is that many of these are under threat by sweeping new guidelines due to be implemented at the end of this year which will restict a lot of parental choices and freedom.

In the past few years what has become more mainstream is a deeper understanding into the world of quantum science and how this works with natural remedies. This work was furthered by the ground breaking research of the famous scientist Jacques Benveniste. Apart from his work into the understanding of how natural remedies work, he researched the effect of converting natural remedies into digital sound data which could be electronically stored and could remain as effective by being listened to as by actually ingesting the remedy.

This solution apart from being so easily accessible certainly seems to bypass the many worrying implications of guidelines for restricting access to natural remedies for ADHD and other conditions which are further denying parents and children rights of choice.

Conventional ADHD tests centre around the theory that ADHD testing techniques should comprise of lumping together certain behavioural traits around not being able to keep still, focus on what you are doing or pay attention and not thinking things through to consequences.
How severe these symptoms are will depend upon the subjective point of view of various teachers at school. From these checklists, a diagnosis is made that will enable your child to access medication which potentially has unpleasant side effects.
An alternative approach focuses not on lumping general traits together in order to suppress the symptoms, but to see each child’s behavioural process as an individual response to certain factors in their life. Rather than suppressing those behavioural responses an alternative ADHD test seeks out the underlying causes and addresses them in a safe and

ADHD Testing

natural process which is not designed to create any side effects at all.

An alternative ADHD testing system will look at defining a very individual behavioural profile for your child with those people who know him or her best, This can then form the basis for agreeing what are the desirable behaviours and which are not.

A structure can then be put into place which will foster and encourage and reward the very behaviours you want to encourage. Different natural strategies and approaches can then be introduced one at a time to support your child in feeling more positive about themselves and their life, dealing with experiences that may well be holding your child back, changing your child’s perception on those experiences and learning different techniques of relaxation which is the major problem for people with ADHD.

Looking at lifestyle, what, when and how we eat as well as exercise and taking good nutritional supplements help the body heal from the sensitivities accumulated from dietary toxins which very often trigger ADHD classified behaviours. Children with these type of symptoms will never succeed in a system which keeps them hemmed in noisy environments forcing them to learn in outdated ways that are not befitting to how they naturally learn. The best learning environment which I have found to be for ADHD is outside in natural environments working with land based programmes and animals. This represents a way to switch on a desire for learning.

The alternative ADHD test is used as a bench marking tool to measure how far your child has come in achieving desirable behaviours and seeing for ourselves what it is that triggers the behaviours we don’ want and how to adopt lifelong strategies to deal with those situations whenever they occur again in the future.

A new way to test ADHD, a new way to treat ADHD and a new way to learn with ADHD

What have you got to lose?

Diet and its influence on ADHD has been very well researched. Certainly what a child eats can influence their levels of hyperactivity and we know also that this condition is rapidly on the increase with approximately 5% of the population showing signs of ADHD. So what are the reasons for this and what is the best ADHD Diet?

Well another set of research data has looked at the nutritional values of food from before the war and compared them to vegetable and meat nutrition levels recently.

The results are quite staggering, vegetables were far higher 50 years ago, in all the essential minerals that are required for healthy body functioning. Elements like Iron which are needed for healthy blood, calcium and magnesium, for healthy teeth, muscle and bone etc are very depleted in today’s food production chain. All of these minerals
are needed for a healthy nervous system and the reality is that food today is sadly deficient in what is necessary. It is not today’s children that are starting this trend off because the trend started 3 generations ago and is the children of today that are picking up the tab on 50 years of malnutrition, passed on from generation to generation.

The growing techniques for food, how it is stored and transported include processes which deplete the nutritional goodness needed for healthy growing
children and then the added complication of preservatives, insecticides, and flavour enhancers, etc all take their toll on healthy hormones, nerve transmission and development. It is no coincide that this downward trend in natural food productions coincides with a downward trend in children’s behavioural health!

The first step in improving ADHD through diet has to be in eliminating the effect of specific additives to which the individual may be sensitive. The second stage is good nutritional supplementation to remedy the deficiency and thirdly, we have to look at how and where we source our food.
Locally grown food, grown without the use of damaging pesticides is important. It should be eaten as soon after being picked, as possible in order to access the energy giving life force in all fruit and vegetables which starts to die off immediately it is picked. It is the life force in food that gives us our own vitality and feel good factor, and from which the body is able to run on optimum performance. It was Einstein himself, a vegetarian that promoted this approach maintaining that we should eat food as close to sunlight as possible.

I have developed many projects working with young people and their families that look at something called the ‘Rainbow Diet’.

This is where they have to work out what healthy foods are and then match them to the colours of the rainbow. Not only should they put recipes together and start to cook them but to also grow them. Ranging from tomato plants on windowsill to cold frames in gardens and poly tunnels and allotments in the community. These projects are usually undertaken in small social groups, involving families and friends and this is also a helpful approach to ADHD natural learning. Historically, ADHD children fail to achieve and meet their potential in crowded noisy classrooms where the effects of poor dietary compromised nervous systems that are unable to information process properly are overwhelmed by the school environment. I have found that when the children are out and about on the land and with animals, they are far more able to concentrate, engage and experience a sense of achievement.

There are many local produce box schemes, and one of the projects I set for families, is to research what is happening locally and to involve themselves in home food production. Something as simple as growing nutritious alfalfa on the kitchen windowsill and developing recipes around it can open up a whole new life time approach towards better and healthier eating habits.

What is ADHD?

This is what ADHD is…

Your child’s behaviours are unpredictable and no one in the family can agree as everyone is under stress from it and there are many arguments

Your child cannot go out and live a normal life – even a visit to the shops is a nightmare with everyone looking in condemnation and criticism.

No one at school really understands and all you keep getting is an endless stream of phone calls to come and collect your child which means there is no break from the ADHD behaviour routine for you.

Your child is unhappy and not achieving.

Other children in the family are suffering.

Your partner is not working with you , only criticising or perhaps your relationship has broken down altogether as a result of your child’s behaviour

Because you can’t go out, your child becomes more frustrated and the older and bigger they are getting the more damage they are doing in the house. It is getting to the stage where they cannot be contained and
the only thing you can do is to let them out and they are hanging around with other kids and getting into trouble, perhaps the police have already been involved.

Sounds familiar?

Well this is ADHD – not a word on a medical record that means ‘Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder’ or a prescription with ‘Ritalin’ on it , that can have some very strange side effects that make your child unable to sleep and affects their appetite.

This is really what ADHD is!

There is very little out there that can help or do anything for it because no one really knows for sure what causes it – so if this is your child – you will already know what ADHD is!

Well, there is an answer and it is worth reaching for…. because deep down there inside your child and you can see him or her crying to come out, is a loving desperate little soul who is lacking confidence
because they do not know what it is like to succeed at much. Who cannot wind down and take time to chill out, who finds it difficult to make or hold onto friends, whose parents are constantly stressed, who cannot
understand why they feel like they are in the fast lane and constantly being super glued to the chair – because that is what the nervous system feels like.

That is why you need to find out about HET Holistic Educational Therapy today for your sake and your child’s sake. This programme achieves the desired results over 86% of the time, it is natural, with no side effects, it is life changing, it has been tried by professionals from all different service agencies who have written testimonials in support of it.

I so often hear from parents that they have tried behaviour charts for ADHD and they never seem to work. I know from experience that isn’t because the child doesn’t respond very well to it – It’s because the parents don’t follow their own guidelines. And that is one of the reasons why ADHD type behaviours get worse – the structure needs to be in place. Over the many years I have been working with HET, developing it and evaluating it – I have drawn up a behaviour reward chart system that is very effective – if parents follow through!!!

So let’s look at the main reasons why behaviour charts don’t work:

The parents are not consistent with enforcing the rules and guidelines behind achieving the rewards through the chart. Either they let the child down – in which case why bother from the child’s point of view.

Or …they give in and award the incentive without it being earned through the chart – in which case – why bother?

Or…. They blow all their chances in the morning and cannot pull anything back throughout the rest of the day – in which case, why bother?

I think you might be seeing where I am coming from with this line of thinking – and 99% of childrens behaviour charts out there fall into this category – and you know what? 99% of parents out there also fall into this category and what is more they focus on negative or punishing behaviours that take things away from their child or deny them certain privileges if they do NOT do certain things that are expected or required from them.
Think about this one – how would you feel about this happening to you? – a bit resentful is probably an understatement here!
And what’s more if you focus on the negative behaviours – guess what? That is exactly what you get more of – negative behaviours – one good reason why this approach really doesn’t work.

So, what are the key success elements of a good behaviour chart?

Firstly, it has to be clearly understood by everyone involved what the behaviours are that are going to be rewarded and how they will be rewarded.

There also has to be a clear understanding of the consequences for not choosing those
behaviours.

Once that is agreed everyone has to stick by it

Always focus on the positive behaviour – give an agreed number of reminders / directions if your child is showing the negative
behaviour.

Have a ‘buy back’ system – we all have days where we ‘blip’ ! – the point is that we should focus on success and achievement not failure to achieve – it is the ’feel good factor’ that really makes this system work.

Stick to the ground rules – your chart will be undermined if you don’t, then your child will not have a consistent boundary to follow – the whole point of using a chart is giving structure.

So there’s a few ideas around how to work with behaviour charts with ADHD and other behaviour problems. There is more information on how to plan for this, design it, implement it and develop it on our website www.hetwebsite.com .

We have developed a system for treating ADHD naturally in HET or Holistic Educational Therapy and we have found one of the first remedies we would use to turn behaviours around really quickly is the Bach Flower remedies by Dr

Child taking Bach flower remedy

Bach, founded eighty years ago. They are now available worldwide and probably the most renowned is Rescue Remedy, which is actually a combination of 5 remedies to be taken in times of extreme stress.
However out of a complete system of thirty eight remedies, there are other combinations which are extremely helpful in dealing with behaviour problems associated with ADHD.
The first two stepping stones in HET- Holistic Educational Therapy, involve consultations to find out which behaviours we want to change and then goal setting, so we can measure success along the way. The next approach is to look at turning around emotionally challenging behaviours – This is done by quite simply changing the emotions.

In ADHD there are usually certain types of behaviour in common, like impulsiveness, impatience, lack of concentration etc. There may however be other related emotions that are derived from the condition of ADHD, like lack of self esteem and confidence for example, if that young person has not been able to succeed within the school system and these secondary emotions need to be addressed as they will come back into the ADHD cycle and feed the original problem.
The skill of the practitioner is dependent on how accurately they can assess the behaviours behind the emotions, before translating this into the remedies, A blend will hold anything up to 7 of the remedies and is usually taken 4 times a day over 3 weeks and then the progress is reviewed before another blend is prepared.
This system is safe simple and effective with absolutely no side effects. In HET we have seen a huge turnaround in behaviour over a relatively short period of time and the joy of this system is that it is so easy to learn and administer and becomes a tool box for life in using natural remedies for ADHD and for any of life’s challenging situations.

So what is ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder? Is there a natural ADHD alternative to more drastic treatments?
ADHD is a condition whereby someone finds it very difficult to relax. There are increasing numbers of young people being diagnosed with ADHD every year. Depending on how severe the symptoms are , these young people are tested and recorded. Achieving a high score puts them into the category of ADHD. Often this leads to prescribing of controversial medications which are documented as having unpleasant side effects in some cases.
One thing is for sure, everything about this condition creates stress for the person concerned and for the family members who are trying to cope with it. It feels like being stuck in a motorway hold up whilst our foot is flat down on the accelerator.
Let’s look at what can be done to support young people with this condition and the family that have to try and cope, often under very difficult circumstances.
HET or Holistic Educational Therapy has a long proven and successful track record of delivering results as a natural alternative to ADHD conventional routes.
Having received commendations from OFSTED for its success in the UK education system, it has also received an international award for the empowerment and inspiration of young people.
Families are supported in participating together in a step by step programme that unravels blocks to reaching potential and to learning. The steps are simple and obvious:
• Define behaviours
• Set goals
• Support emotions
• Adjust diet, lifestyle, fitness levels
• Release core issues
• Change negative patterns
• Learn relaxation techniques
• Support cellular structure
All this is undertaken in a programme of environmental projects – the eco therapy programme and the HET PET programmes.
Each and every part of the programme is evaluated in order to provide a unique profile for each individual in order that a self help programme can be put together for a tool box for life.
Loads of materials are freely available on the website to get you started with an alternative approach to ADHD– see you there.

My name is Linda Porter and I pioneered a natural alternative for ADHD therapy through HET (Holistic Educational Therapy) 10 years ago, working with children with issues which affect behaviour..

HET is a completely natural approach which has helped numerous children and their families over the years and is consistently more than 86% successful. Commended by OFSTED and running successfully through many organisations, it has only been available via professional until now.

The programme is now available as a 12 step programme to support families directly, for the first time this year. The whole programme is supported online and over the phone by qualified professionals who can be available to support families on a 1:1 basis.

Identifying with this approach and acting upon this article can start to change life…starting from today!

When I was researching HET with some young people in a school for behavioural problems – my dog came in with me to make some new friends every day. This was the start of the HET Pet programme.

Ruby’s unlikely friendship with a German Micro pig has led to the snow friends project – so they can start to tell their special stories and help children and families again.

Ruby and Daisy

This special project is a way into the whole HET programme, enabling families to access help online and support HET therapists in their training – as well as offering an in depth interactive holistic package to help adults as well.

There are many free materials available to help families who prefer a natural ADHD alternative on the website right now – what are you waiting for?
